EUROPEAN BLOOMING BASKETS

Our European blooming arrangements are built with multiple blooming and foliage plants, which are all kept in their individual nursery pots. This ensures the plants can get the specific care they need, while coming together to create a lovely arrangement. With proper care, our blooming baskets can last for weeks at a time, and many of the plants are able to be kept as long term house plants–even after the blooms fade.

WATER

As mentioned, each plant in your flower basket is potted in an individual plastic pot and placed inside a deep liner to catch excess water. This allows you to water each plant separately. Be sure to check each plant’s soil every few days to make sure they do not become too dry. Some plants, like Hydrangeas, may need water every day so look out for signs of wilting.

When watering, locate the base of the plant where it is coming out of the nursery pot. Target your watering to that area, and be careful not to overfill the pot, as this could cause some of the water to leak out. Most baskets will be lined, but they are not necessarily water tight.

Lastly, plants should not be sitting in water. Our arrangements are made of separate components to allow for optimal care, and the components can be removed and placed back as needed if a plant has water pooling in it’s liner.

LIGHT

A bright, indirect light is suitable for your basket. They will prefer to be no more than a few feet from a bright window. Hot, direct light may burn delicate foliage, so keep an eye on any plants whose leaves are especially thin or lacey.

TEMPERATURE

Due to the arrangement being a collection of plants, each plant will have a variety of temperature tolerances. That said, we recommend keeping the arrangement away from drafts, as well as heating and cooling vents.

SPECIAL NOTES

With care, your basket should remain beautiful for some time. Typically plants will stay in bloom anywhere from 2-5 weeks. However, flowering plants do have a finite period in which they will stay in bloom. Make sure to trim off any spent flowers or dying leaves. Plants that have finished blooming can easily be removed and replaced with fresh blooming plants to prolong your enjoyment of the arrangement–which we are always happy to help with!

If you ever have any questions about specific plants in your arrangement, whether that be what the plant is or a specific care question, always feel free to come into one of our locations, or give us a call.
