Ready to be planted outdoors in a bright, sunny spot, protected from wind, they make a wonderful border along a fence or driveway, and stay nicely sized at 2-4 feet wide and tall. Eventually, the blooms may get so big that they need support as they grow.
Peonies do not like to compete for resources, so don’t plant them under trees or shrubs, and keep weeds and turfgrass cleared away. Soil should be fertile, with good drainage. Peonies are not drought-tolerant, and will require regular watering, but avoid continuously soggy soil.
